I was hoping for a stand alone show with only CJ cars .Mixing in with the NMCA will make us a small spoke in a big wheel. Waited 7 hours between rounds on Sunday 2 years ago at that show .
had many 428 CJ and SCJ cars over the last 30 years.I currently own a 68 1/2 coupe and a 69 R code SCJ Coupe and a 70 R code SCJ Cougar Eliminator .I am looking for a 70 428 coupe if anybody knows of one for sale.

Anybody know if a later model Ford drag race car with FE power would be welcomed? I have a 78 Fairmont that I have been racing with FE power for 30 years, most of that with a 428 CJ.
I also have a 1959 Ford 2 door sedan with a 428 CJ and 4 speed Toploader. Obviously neither car came with the 428 CJs from the factory! (If it matters or helps, I have owned 5 69-70 R code cars). I plan to retire next year, and have been considering a long distance road trip, like either the FE Reunion in Beaver Springs PA., or maybe this event, which would be a bit closer.
28CJ powered Ford Fairmont drag car. ET:10.03@132mph
Have owned 5 "R" code Mustangs & Fairlanes over the past 25+ years.

Will someone in the know about this please advise.  I looked at the 2017 schedule and I am guessing that "our" part of the schedule here is really just Saturday?  Danny T. - do you know?

I ask partly because I have learned that the good hotels are either already sold out or are very expensive.   Minimizing nights in a hotel near the event would help the costs a lot.  Much as I would like to see the cars run on Friday, I would give that up to save $220 on a hotel room.
