Caught up with a few registry members, kept missing Scott....must have Been wandering different vendor rows each time!! Chris T, I never did find an oil dip stick to replace the one the CJ ate 3" off of (Again) Friday. Found a nice strong flat magnet to throw on the bottom of the oil pan to keep the missing piece honest and out of harms way for the long drive home . Ordered a new repop from SEMO Mustang . Just got home with no issues ending another great Carlisle trip with very un Carlisle like good weather the whole Thursday thru Sunday!! Actually got a tan!!

Happy you made it home with no issues. ( bet it seemed like it took forever to get home..Right) when you have the pan off look for other issues.
I STILL think you should of kept Tim at home.

Just joined the forum and added the car to the registry today, but my father, brother, and I were there in my dads recently acquired 68 1/2. I believe there were only two 68 Cobra Jet cars there this year. His was the red one with red interior on the showfield. We had an amazing time and met a few other 68 1/2 owners with some great information on restoring the car! The other one I saw was the acapulco blue car in the for sale corral. The owner was a really nice guy with tons of great tips and the car is absolutely beautiful! Best weather of any Carlisle I've ever been to as well.

Chris,
I'm happy to hear that you made it home ok.

Too bad you didn't stop back by our site. The vendor across the aisle had a dip stick with him.

I suggest you replace your drain plug with one that has a magnet built into it. Back when I was shearing distributor drive pins, the pan plug magnet picked up the stray pieces every time. Just had to reconstruct what was stuck to it to make sure that I had everything.

Great trip this year !!. Weather and traffic was great , No worries off possible over heating in the long lines to get in to the show field.  Only small issue was lost a bolt to my snorkel. Thanks Scott for the award, I was hoping to catch up with you, but it was like finding Walldo.  Chris T, good to see you again , Rob not so much  :-*  :-* .

Weather was great!
Was busy seeing friends I only get to see at Carlisle and parts hunting.
So much to see and not a ton of time!
Enjoyed the ham and cheese sandwiches and shoefly pie as usual!

The weather was great.
Stopped by Chris's spot to say hi.
Saw Chris & Tim in the show field but they were taking off with their cars.
Saturday saw Scott, Rob and Chris in the show field but they split by the time I got over there.

Here's what I saw in the Car Coral for sale.

I didn't see the price for this 68.

The Maroon and Candyapple Red were both priced at 79,000

The owner of the blue 68 didn't really want to sell his car.
I think a lot of people rent a spot in the corral just because its covered and
they don't want their car sitting in the field. Beautiful car and
really nice guy though! He mentioned something about a possible
68.5 Cobra Jet Reunion at the 2017 Show, Shine, Shag, and Dine
show in Henderson, NC this fall. Anyone have any info on that?
