San Diego Show
« on: October 05, 2014, 05:53:13 pm »
Mustang Club of San Diego held their annual show today.  Always a well attended event with a good turn out of some very nice cars.  A little thin in the category I am most interested in but still some very fine cars.  One BOSS 9 KK1351, several BOSS 2's, Zero 69 CJ's or SCJ's and one 70 SCJ vert.  Took some picture's of the 70, SCJ vert and spoke with the owner.  The vert. owner is a fella named Dusty and he resides in Riverside Ca.  I believe he said his car, 0F03R156879, is registered with the CJ Registry but I did not see it in my 2010 Registry.  Brian

Brian,
How old would you guess the owner is?
I have a family member that lives in Riverside that says there neighbor has a 70 CJ vert. I am curious if it is the same person. I have met him and have not been able to get to his house yet for a visit to see his cars.
I have seen that yellow car at the show a couple of times now but have never located the owner at the show to put 2 and 2 together.
The owner has been busy putting stripes on and spoilers and ??.
Bummed I didn't see you at the show, we didn't do our part, with 0 69's at the show. Have some family commitments that kept me from going. You know how busy my life is right now.

Read your post and got a laugh out of the how busy you are.  Found the time and money to go look at a barn find 69 Trans Am so it can't be that bad.  About the 70 vert guy Dusty, my guess, 70 something and uses a cane.  I suspect his wife was doing the driving.  I have lost my enthusiasm for sitting around car shows all day.  Two hours max is all I am good for now days.  No one seems to know the difference between a R an M or a H code car anyway.  If it has a scoop gotta be a CJ.  Brian

Yup,
Thats the guy. (at least 70 years old)
I have to go see him.

I guess I'm too busy to go go see him but not too busy to hunt down the Trans Am...go figure.

I spent a couple hours with the owner at his house today of the 70 vert.
Very nice.
Says he is the original owner.
I had a fun chat with him, and likely will have many more. Took some pictures.
I will respect his privacy.
Very cool car though.
