1969 Mustang SCJ
« on: May 13, 2017, 11:00:03 am »
Newbie here
I have acquired an original dealer invoice for a 1969 Mustang Mach 1  428 SCJ with 4 speed and W code diff. If the car still exists, I would like to get the invoice to the current owner. Is there a registry that I can search for this car by VIN? Thanks, Jim P.

There is no comprehensive database but there are a couple of possibilities. Many owners have registered there cars here but you have to go through one of the moderators of this forum, sah62 seems to handle that task. He can check that invoice VIN against those registered here. I believe that  the 69stang.com forum has a list of voluntarily entered cars. That is not really "searchable" as it is just a list that you can scroll through. I recall a "lost cars" or such site but I can't quite come up with the exact name of that site. Good luck. That is a noble undertaking.   Dave R.

Very thought full of you to reach out looking to reunite the invoice with the car/owner.  Registered cars and their Vin's are located in the ' 428 Cobra Jet Registry '  a published book.  The last published edition is for 2010.  The forum moderators, and Registry publisher's, will be along and may be able to help with the search.  They may have a name/address to go with the vin ?  Good luck with the search and I hope it turns out as a pleasant surprise for some one.  Brian

Not a lot of SCJ 4 speeds. I think that this site is the most likely place to find an owner if the car survived. If you look at my flair you'll see that I have one of them. It's a late 69 model year Dearborn built car.

It looks likes the chances of this car still being around are pretty slim so I'm going to post the data for this great car. VIN 9T02R128054   Door data plate  63C T5 3D 31K 28 W 6. It was built in Metuchen and had the following options  428 CID Ram Air, Four Speed Trans, Traction-Lok Diff., Optional Axle Ratio, F70x14 Tires, Sport Deck Rear Seat, Power Front Disc Brakes, Sterosonic Tape System, AM Radio, Tinted Glass Complete  What a car!!!

If you care to share.  I am curious;  Which dealership is the invoice from and how much did the optional axle ratio cost ?     Reeves Motor Co. Ky. and $6.53.

I checked the spreadsheet at 69stang.com and that VIN does NOT appear there.   Dave R.
