Silver Jade is one of those colors that seems to come out a dozen different shades. I think the reason for that is mostly that whoever mixes the paint doesn't follow the formula meticulously. You don't have to be too careless to get a different shade.
As to the 295s, it appears they did it just the way everyone did it back in the day...you just keep raising the rear of the car (extra leaf, re-arch, shackles air-bags, air-shocks) until they don't rub anymore. The later Mustangs weren't so bad...think of how high you'd have to raise that Fairlane sitting next to it! And people did. They looked like stink-bugs going down the road.
