PSCA Mustang Madness SCSN V in Las Vegas
« on: November 26, 2009, 01:09:53 pm »
Two local racers talked me into going to the PSCA - Street Car Super Nationals V with them this last week with the Cobra Jet.  What a hoot!  I had a ton of fun and logged more time behind the wheel.  The car hooked really good one time and I was not able to repeat it.  Track was outstanding and so were the fellow mustang racers.  I was lifting per my two Crew Chief's directions (Jeff and Kevin Y) since they knew the ropes on how the race was organized.  I redlit by .016 seconds in the third round Sunday.  :-[  I got the chance to meet new people including one person in particular who is a really nice guy.  What a great time!  ;D

My best 60 ft ever during Friday morning qualifying.

Last qualifying run Saturday Night.

The only thing I have done to the car so far is change to hoosier front and rear tires.  The fronts are 28 inch to get the car up a couple of inches.  The 26 inch the car comes with only measure 24.

Best 60 ft with the ford tune was a 1.438 and I lifted just before the 1000 ft mark per my two man chrew cheif directions for the class I was running.  It cracked off a 10.632 @ 114.18 mph lifting.  The eight was impressive at 6.678 @ 102.85 mph.  Most of the 60-ft the whole weekend were in the mid to upper 1.50 range.  My quickest pass was 10.46 at 132.95 mph with a 1.53 60-ft.  I think the clutch is just about done as far as its job goes.  I kept slowing down Sunday during the compitition.  Had a great time though. ;D   Time for that automatic now this winter.
