Lloyd Bray a Cobra Jet racer passes away
« on: January 17, 2012, 03:17:35 pm »
I got the call earlier this morning that Lloyd Bray has passed away from a lenghty illness. For those of you who didn't know, Lloyd purchased the Gas Ronda car in the very early 70's and campaigned it for years with his partner D.G. Gillam.  They sold the Ronda car & ran a Fox Body Mustang with a cobra jet after that.Lloyd was a great guy & always willing to share information. I will miss him! Rest in Peace my friend!

Just to clarify. Didn't Gas Ronda have more than one? Once upon a time there was rumors that a Gas Rhonda car was in Utah. Either way, it is sad to hear of someones passing that was so involved in the sport. My best wishes to his family & friends.

From Lloyds mouth to my ears. They went to California & bought the 135 car,  raced it. That car was sold & retored back to Ronda livery & currently resides in Michigan

Sorry, I should of been more specific. I had heard that it was a fuel car.

Lloyd did the carb for my stocker years ago.  One of the nicest, most genuine guys you could ever know.  He could shift his 9 second CJ better than most racers.  Kris

Talked to him several times at the Nationals through the years. Always super friendly and took some time to share any info he could. Godspeed & R.I.P.
