Anyone know if this is a date code?

Autolite Oil filter - wondering what this number means and if it has a date code in it?

1910 Model T Ford Touring Red
1915 Model T Ford Touring Black
1914 Model T Ford Touring
1917 Model T Ford Torpedo Green
1968 Mercury Cougar XR-7 GT-E Green 427 W Code

It is Royce and I think you have a later in the year 1970 there.

Strange is selling one with 4072170 on Ebay here

Trying to decide whether to use it on my '68 428CJ or not.

It is Royce and I think you have a later in the year 1970 there.

The wife calls me a nerd, I will take it as a complement I guess.

I may be incorrect but I believe that date code is epoch time, number of seconds since January 1, 1970 UTC. If So that would make Royce’s filter date “February 17, 1970 5:46:10 AM GMT” and the eBay filter “February 17, 1970 3:09:30 AM”. OR I am full of beans, entirely possible...

     Ok, I'll bite. Where did you get that theory? Codes by the second, that is pretty specific.

     Not to argue. Just think. Every filter in a case could have a different number. Don't know about oil filters. But I knew a guy that serviced beer can & bottle making machines. I don't recall the number but they make lots per second so I guess duplicate numbers can happen.
