I think you'll find the Tulsa Mid America Ford Meet crowd to be very friendly and open to all ideas.  That's what makes it such a great event.  The challenge will be, I suspect, finding time and space for something CJ specific with everything else going on that weekend.

A extra day at the drag strip might make me drag my pile down there!

My paint and body guy(me...LOL!) does not have enough time to get the Sportsroof really pretty before Tulsa. Gotta sort out the engine/chassis stuff first but I'm gonna be there with it running anyway! Ugly CJ is better than NO CJ!!!!!!!!!!

So everyone bring your cars... not everything there is a 100 point show car. Some are very average with some very nice cars thrown in for good measure. Not everything is entered in the show, just fun to see them cruising around town the whole weekend!

I have been trying to make this show for 35 years and something always seemed to get in the way. I hope next year is different and cosidering there will likely be numerous Boss 302's there I think I will bring the CJ car even though it's still for the most part in drag trim. Probably won't be many Q code Sportsroofs there at least.  Jeff don't worry about the look of your car cause mine ain't much prettier right now... I got a call from Tom Stafford (original owner of my car) today who now remembers it was a couple of drag racers from Tulsa or Oklahoma City that he sold the car to in '75 and not Barry Poole as he once told me. He said the Oklahoma guys would be getting old now but heard somewhere that their boys were carrying on the racing. These guys sound familiar to anyone?

I hope to meet Jim Wicks again. I was in Vinita (Jims home town at the time) on business once about 1980 and called fellow SAAC member Jim who said I'll pick you up and show you some of my "junk". He picked me up in a black 289 Cobra and we went to a shop that was either Jims or his buddy Cliff Hornbacks. Saw lots of "junk". One in particular was Cliffs 66 Gt350 convertible, one of six if my memory serves me. I will never forget that day or the ride in the Cobra.

I talked to Vinny Lyons today; he says the trip will be too cost prohibitive for him.  For now he is out!  Maybe that will change if we can get more 135 cars to Tulsa than we did to Carlisle.

I've made my reservations; so I'll be there without a car.

I wasn't going to go to Tulsa this year, I have another trip planned for 2 weeks after.  But, now I have to go.  I will try to get the Mach 1 running by then.

That's the spirit! I'm looking forward to the show. Tulsa is so centralized, it seems like it should be a great draw. There will be more information coming in the next month or so.

I just made reservations this week, and the lady on the phone said they were already nearly sold out. (Marriott Southern Hills)  I agree that the best part of the whole event is hanging around the parking lot and just bench racing and checking out the cars.  I haven't been there since '96, but it is the best event I have ever been to.  It will probably be blazing hot, so be ready for that.  I am planning to bring my driver mach just to see how it will run at low altitude...can't wait!!!  The swap meet at the drag strip on Sat used to be awesome, is that still the best place to shop/sell?

I have been attending this show for the past 5 years and it is always one of the best of the season. The parking lot is by far the best part with every evening being a tailgate party. I plan to bring my 69 White SCJ Mach 1.

Will ther be a car corral? This show might be worth the trip, as I'm looking for a 68 1/2 to purchase.

There is normally a swap meet and cars are parked around the host hotel with for sale signs all the time
