I met him in Vegas last month. He was having some issues with his MSD ignition and tach. It turned out the tach was bad. The car was cutting out bad. He won his class but didn't win the race, he was mad because he said he should have if the car was right. He is a really neat guy, really fun to talk to. Randy, have fun out there and tell him I said hi.

Bob,

Are you planning on coning to Tulsa?

You gotta make the trip if you can. After listening to Richie talk about how slow his car feels in Denver you need to come down to 500ft. I have a buddy that loves your car in the calendar too. He really hopes you come.

A few years ago, Pauley brought his Mustang to the NHRA divisional race at Mission Raceway, and did such a huge wheelstand, that when it landed, it hit hard enough to break the block off where the oil pump bolts on. :o . I happened to be in the other lane on that run, and after I shifted to 2nd gear, I looked out the window, and all I saw was Ritchy`s rocker panel, almost vertical!! I think that was the last time he ran the Mustang without the wheelie bars.

The car is beautiful--and may be the most heavily raced of the 135 cars!

Yes, his car is awesome! If I am correct, I believe George "Pops Toy" Boscovitch was the original owner, and sold it to Ritchie in the 1970s. Im sure gt350hr (Randy) will know for sure on that.

Richie worked for George back then and I don't actually know when he "officially" became the owner, but George bought it from Foulger along with a "normal" street version. George said he thought my car was the "demo car" but I really have no proof except it wasn't titled until '69. I may have located the original owner but that's another thread.

I was racing in Stock Eliminator last weekend at the Fram Autolite Nationals in Sonoma California, there  were 10 cars in C/SA, and Ritchie made it to the final round of class eliminations, only to redlight to Bernie Cunninghams Firebird. But the 10.51ET that Ritchie ran on that pass was the quickest pass in C/SA at Sonoma. Pretty impressive, considering the heat & headwind we faced most of the weekend. As usual, Pauleys cars was wheelstanding big time.
