Thats Jerry Mendes car driven by Tony Hewes. Two really class guys. FYI it is not a real Shelby although Jerry in the original owner of a GT350. This car won the Special 50th anniversary National Event at Pomona a few years ago. Its a fast hi-tech car. If you see it at the track, take the time to meet these guys, as I mentioned they are really nice.

   Marty,
Good to see you here! Jerry's GT350 is a '65 and is very period. Still has "white dot" Firestones on the rear. Tony drove it at a special event at Infineon a few years back against my '66 Shelby Hertz car. He was very careful not to break it and was in the 13's as opposed to my then mid 11's.
The '70 is a rocket ship, high 9's back then , faster now. I need an arrive and drive racer like that! More fun driving than making them fast!

It used to take a business card to get in. Not sure anymore.
I'm not sure about the car but it makes sense that it was aMach 1 previously. Bodt panel changes are far easier than building a complete new race car.
