I am planning on going as of now.
Maybe a few of us in SD can hitch a ride together.
I haven't decided to make the trek with a car to show yet though.

Well I made it home from Knotts with only 1/2 tank left of gas.  Not too bad considering I was driving 55 @3,000 rpms.  The car ran great and had lots of fun with awesome 70 degree weather!  Met Rich, Brian and Bruce and had some good conversation as well.  All great guys!  It's nice to put some faces to the threads here.  Maybe next year we can all get some more forum members together and park all in a row and get some lunch afterwards.  We've gotta out do those Boss 302 guys and show them who's really the Boss ;) Just kiddin' for all of those B2 owners here.  I just got a phone call from my buddy who was leaving out of the exit when he saw a gate get swept away from the wind into a 70 Mustang.....ouch! I'd be pissed! >:(

Great to meet you Scott. Didn't expect you to be a youngster (such as myself of course). Your car is very nice. Renewed my desire to get back to work on my projects. Someday I would love to have a row of our own at the show. My boys will probably be to tall to drive them to the show when they are finished though ;D
I can't afford their food bill let alone the car resto supplies.
That Boss line was impressive and certainly will be the magazine snapshop. The grabber blue B9 was sweet. The black 47 69 mustang was really an intense car.
I only used 4 gallons of diesel on my round trip from SD but surely was not as fun as your drive, and nobody stared at my Jetta. Although J Bittle remembered me following him for a while in his 67 GT500 (he drives fast when there is a new shelby chasing him)

Sorry Randy.  Believe it or not, I intended to make it down to meet you but one of my buddies rolled in late and time got the best of me.  Next year for sure!  This years show was the best one yet  ;D

I am sure you guys in the rest of the nation have car shows just as nice as the west coast's Fabulous Fords, but, man this show is intense.  The sheer number of   cars all in one place makes this particular show a must for any car guy.  To be able to walk down a row of cars and see everything that could possible be done to a stock or modified car is educational to say the least.  My cars are pretty much stock and restored drivers so I really like to check out the early Mustangs and they are well represented at this show.  It's really great to see the other guys there and to know they are enjoying it as much as I am.  Scott has got a great car and he seems to be eager to get really involved with the hobby. Where else can you go and ask a guy " what do I set my valves at ?  It's a solid lifter 428 and no I don't know what the cam is."  Randy knows, he also had the only GT 350 with racing slicks in the Shelby area.  Thanks again for the valve settings and the quick lession on FE intake/exhaust locations in the heads.  Rich surprised me I did not think he was going to make it and  yes this show is a great place for motivation.  You know cars seem to be getting smaller and the 69-70 cars may be the only ones your kids will fit into.  Had a great time, saw a lot of cars, took notes, spoke with some very knowledgeable people and was back home by three.  Went on a little to long, sorry.  Brian
