A Cobra Jet Mustang puts its fat rubber to use coming off the line. What a wicked looking car!

Doug, the slicks are Mickeys and are 29 1/2 x 10 1/2 on 8 inch wheels. I was hoping for my keystones rears to be ready but they were not. The picture is from Friday and I know I only came out at 3200 RPM so Sundays photo's should be best. The Calendar shot is a Sunday shot but is from the stands and not a front shot like this one.

Yeah Baby !  Fun with Cobra Jets !       I bet that car is sooo glad you found it and let it come out and play.  We have enough garage and trailer queens around. Thanks for your efforts. REALLY love that car.

David, that is an awesome shot!  It was great to see you briefly in Waldorf.  Hope to catch up with you somewhere on the show circuit next summer.

David,

What are the tire clearance issues with that wheel/tire combo? backspacing? Seems pretty tight from the pictures.

thanks, Naz

Naz, No clearance issues. The rear shocks are adjustable and I have them set tight. Usually a ladder bar car will separate in the wheel area but with the shocks adjusted tight they don't let the wheel pull out of the well thus letting weight transfer and hooks great. The front of the lowest area (Rocker) has been worked and still has it's lip. The rearend with is 52 3/8 backing plate to plate. The wheels are 8 inch. 4 inch back space and 4 inch out and use a 1/2 inch spacer behind the wheel.. The original tires were 11 inches wide so I have more clearance now then before. This car was massaged in numerous ways by some of the best at the time.
