Randy thanks for the heads up on those lifters .I snagged a set for under 25$ today.I searched Casidiam coatings and the second place listed is 8 miles away and I have had them ceramic coat my exhaust manifolds before. Will check into geting some hydraulic lifters coated by them.I will call Comp Cams and order a solid cam with the specs of the other cam also.

It won't be cheap and you'll have to disasseble every lifter and mark them so they are reassembled with the same components. This is critical on a hydraulic lifter as they are select fit. While you are at it look on the internet for a set of ceramic check balls and replace the steel ones that are stock. They're cheap (like around a buck each) and a common size used in skateboards. LOL That will give about 400 more rpm capability due to the lower inertia of the ceramic ball.

Well we must have put the car together well .I could find any hook but even with a 20-25 mph headwind ran a 12.70 at 108 with a 1.96 60 ft time. They are only open sat and sunday now and the prep seemed off it was sunny and 72 .The first pass left easy got out a 100 ft or so and felt like I drove onto ice,let off got back in it and ran a 16.0 at 100 .Next pass seemed good and the time slip didnt print anything more than reaction time 60 ft 330 time ,so no idea what it ran. At least the mph was back even thought it was a bit lower but the headwind was very steady.May get it out next week maybe sunday the second day of running may make the track better .A good 60 ft and no wind could make a huge difference in et.
Going to change pushrods to get the geometry better the adjusters are way down and losing valve lift because of it and reset the valves properly. We will see if I can wring more out of it before the year ends

Went out again Sunday made 4 passes .The best pass was off the trailer a 12.69 with a 1,81 60 ft spinning a bit, i didnt warm up the the trans and rear enough before making the first pass and it most likely cost a bit.The track started going away after that and never got a good 60 ft after the first pass.
Barrie Poole looked at my cam card and suggested retarding the cam 4 degrees since it is now advanced 4 .
We will do that this week and swap pushrods for better geometry and get more lift .The adjusters are to low with the current pushrods and most likely getting arround .480 to .490 lift a longer pushrod could get .510 to .520 lift .Those to changes could get a few more hp and a bit less low end power to launch easier.
The track is open through december weather permiting we will get out at least once more

That's a good call by Barry and not really a surprize from someone with his experience. That is a sure fire way to soften the bottom in a torque monster with no tire! LOL Good luck. Getting the pushrod geometry right also opens the valve at the right time besides just the added lift.
