S D Road Report
« on: April 13, 2013, 11:28:26 am »
San Diego roads are still in need of a lot of work.  91 octane at Costco is $3.98 and there are no shortages.  VR1 Racing oil 10/30 is $6.35.  Is it just me or anybody else have a hard time getting gas into the tank ?  I have to really lean into that, hazardous emissions recapture, nozzle just to keep the fuel flowing.  Just replaced the plug wires with the Autolite Pro Series 96205 kit and the motor really does run better on all eight cylinders. It seems I have been driving around on seven cylinders for while and didn't realize that was the problem.  Idle was getting a little rough and first gear was getting a little touchy.  New wires and the thrill is back.  Brian

Regular premium here is about $4/gallon, but if you want the non-ethanol stuff, it's $4.50-4.75/gallon.  No road reports from Oregon...except wet.   ::)   Enjoy your sunshine!

Thank you Chris.  I see your ' all throttle no bottle '  car runs a 12.7 1/4 mile.  I would be a happy camper to run that quick.  I looked in the Drag Racing Information section to see if you had posted any info there but no.  You mind sharing a little on how you car is set up ?  Brian

Hey Brian, that set up was a custom grind Mech. roller Cam with 4:11 gears, Cam was soft & ended up having the lobes grooved badly (constantly going out of lash adjustment was the first clue!).I'm currently running a Hyd  roller Cam,Harland Sharp rockers,End Stand Supports,Global West sub frame connectors,Traction Masters, 3:89gears,Hooker Supercomp Headers,MSD 6AL,Unilite Dist. Have not had it at the Track with they New Cam , Gears rebuild. I'm just driving up to Beaver Springs on my Stock Rims &Tires so I have no great expectations for setting any better times, just hope to sneak into the 12's again!!
