June 6 - 8, 2014

I just got the club tent info from the event organizers. We didn't get 25 vehicles registered last year, so if we want a tent it's going to cost $175. Do folks think it's worth it?

Congratulations ...........you have a better chance of making this year than any in the future !!!    You have a good reasons this year  50 Anniversary and "baby not due yet".     For the next 5 years you will be "planning birthday parties".

P.S.  You just have to plan your second child to NOT effect Labor Day weekend away ! LOL

If you decide to do this and need a contribution I will help.  However, it would make more sense to have the tent if someone actually used it all weekend (personal use/shelter from the weather).  I have the feeling it sits there empty most of the time.  Also, would make more sense if it were a recruitment tent, where you were there drumming up business.  I know that isn't your thing.

So.....I like the idea of all getting together someplace but don't think we need the "tent" to do that.

Well you know you guys are always welcome at our tent at K45-K46 - if just for shade!   Jim, Joe and Marcus  as well as others are kind enough to visit every year.    Probably just to see what the circus looks like that year.

Of course Thursday night we are at McKay's Cove - "best dam bar in Carlisle" !

Mark
P.S. Personally I want to see if the guy that convinced me he needed a original bendix master cylinder cap rubber returns!    I said "if you are that anal -then take it out of this NOS unit and bring me a ham sandwich"
(Like the Pink Floyd THE WALL ...... "I'm still waiting!")

Don't know, never been there.

Maybe he is a part owner?

After 30 + years going to Carlisle, it'd likely pay for itself.

No tent this year. When I asked the question about numbers and interest the response was underwhelming.

I’ll be there Friday and Saturday. I have someone that might be interested in buying the Mach so I have to make it real shinny.
Anyone can look me up at my 70 Mach or my red 65 GT as there will be plenty of cold beer in both trunks.

Hello, everybody!  I'm new to the registry, having just purchased a '69 GT R-code.  I plan on driving up to Carlisle on Friday evening.  I hope to meet some fellow members while I'm there.

So this show set the Carlisle record?
I heard on the radio on the way home that it set a record - 50,000 in attendance, 3,000 cars.
Show celebrated 110 years for Ford, 50th for Mustang and 20th year for Ford Nationals at Carlisle.

I thought the show this year was great.  I picked up a few pieces that I really didn't need but the deals were too good to pass on.  Unbelievable weather, not typical of Carlisle in June as we all know.  Thanks to Chris and Gary for the "cold ones".  Much appreciated.

You must have been at our space !  LOL   OUr deal was $5 a part 3 for $10.   (and you got a cloth bag to haul the junk away)   After 7 years of choice parts and NOS stuff - we sold used parts.

ED - Jim and I walked to the building to see you - your wife said you were at our booth at the same time.
Chris - hard to believe that I had to see you at breakfast -not at the show.
Marcus - thanks for the lend of the Iphone 5 cord (but you know I could have played a great joke on You, Jim and Brandon)
David - found out that 428 Bakalite spacer I got from you can be used on LAT TIger's !    Still didn't sell it.

Mark
P.S.  Swap meets have changed (for us sellers) ALL OF THE VENDORS have cut their spaces/tents or expenses (hotel/tolls/rig size) as the buyers of repro via "armchair delivery via VISA" has changed the game.   They don't want to put the effort into a used Ford part that they can get online.
That means - overpay for one that has been cleaned, blasted the painted (lazy could do themselves) or junk from China!     Bill's big sales this year were F350 parts.  GO figure.

I thought the show field was great this year! It was nice to see the classics out. The past few years it seemed there was only a handful of classics compared to the late models. I sure the forecast had a lot to do with that!
