That's the car I bought from SOHC Bob's estate after he passed (that was his FE Forum name).  Original paint 4.30 R code 4-speed car.  Engine was a 428 with a solid roller cam with lift over .700!!  What a sound that thing made.  I sold it to a fellow in Ocala, FL who has a body shop and planned to "restore" it for auction sale.  Haven't seen car or heard from him since.

Thanks for the history.  I hope it's not rotting in a shed, is there any way to track it down?

Well, I know where it is.  I think I'll let sleeping dogs lie, though I understood he was going to get rid of the drag motor and I should have negotiated him out of it.  It was quite the piece.

Why do people think everyone wants to hear music blaring over the engine....  Song started getting on my head so bad I had to shut it off.  Thanks for posting though.

I bought this car with engine out and valve train apart.  I had to do some CSI to figure it out so this is what I found.  Still 428, even had CJ rods and stock 428 crank.  Based on piston shape, very high compression.  Intake was a Streetmaster ported by Joe Craine.  Heads were early Edelbrocks, ported by someone I'm sure.  Dove HD roller rocket setup.  I think I figured out the cam but don't recall right now - but solid roller with huge lift - like .740"!  Had terrific throttle response - partially because it had a race set up C4 in it with a little bitty flex plate.  I think the carb was just some big Holley, as you would expect.  Single 4V.  We actually dynoed this engine after it went back together.  We didn't really touch a thing - I think we changed the spark advance once.  Here are the results.
