Jerry Harvey's 1968 Winternationals Mustang Going to Auction
« on: March 27, 2017, 03:03:13 pm »
The 1968 Mustang raced by Jerry Harvey at the 1968 NHRA Winternationals (VIN 8R02S117414) is currently being prepared for sale by auction. It had been in ownership purgatory for a while due to an estate dispute, but that situation was recently resolved and the current owner is planning to sell the car. I'll add more information to this topic as it becomes available.

Hopefully it will find an owner like Vinny Lyons , David Gartner  and some others that aren't afraid to race them. Static displays are boring ( IMHO) . These cars were meant to make noise!

Here's a short video of the engine being started. Sorry that it's mostly upside down and there is some profanity.

Randy, agreed !    People keep looking down their noses at the old racers, failing to realize that if they hadn't raced and won....nobody would have cared.
How many more perfect cars being drug in and out of trailers at a car show do we need ?  Let's show a little love for the cars that created the interest in Cobra Jets.

Not to mention they are usually low mileage and haven't been driven in bad weather.

Isn't this the Royce McElwie car from Southern Illinois?  It's taken them a while to sort this one out.  I hope the daughter ended up with it.

This car was not a 135 "R" code. That's why no tach, this car won't follow the normal markers you would look for in the S/S er's.
