Once you figure out your vin I would post it here and who knows maybe the current owner will see it and contact you but just hasn't even registered it here.

Wasn't this car found stripped of everything under a bridge back in the day? Surely the car itself is long gone, but maybe the drivetrain will surface?

It is a long shot but the shell could have been rescued and rebuilt. I wouldn't hold my breath.   Dave R.

Thanks for the kind words Kerry.

Jiffy,  I don't think Anthony has any allusions that actually finding Grandpas old car is too likely but as we all know, sometimes "the hunt" is the fun part. ;) ;D

I hunted for a 70 CJ Sportsroof for 30+ years and eventually ended up with two of them, both needing restoration...  So, I am kind of like the dog that finally caught the car.

Right now I guess I have the best one to own, an SCJ 4.30 car, but the first one I found back in the 80's, is the one I'll always regret passing on.  It was a Red/Black CJ automatic with air and decor group.  For reasons I don't really understand the 70 deluxe CJ with auto, air is the one I always wanted instead of the factory race car.  Unfortunately, I know of only one which fits that description and it resides in the Rick Schmidt collection and Rick ain't selling...

Again...good luck to Anthony.  Just learning the vin and getting that Marti will feel like an accomplishment.  I am thrilled to hear of some young blood with an interest in these old cars.
