Another Mustang...
« on: May 07, 2018, 12:50:56 am »
Well another Mustang followed me home.. 67 GT fastback. A code 4 speed with many interior options. STOCK order sold at Schneider Ford in Kansas City, Missouri. Supposed to have the original 289 block (not yet verified) with 351 Windsor heads (May 69 castings in fact). Found in a local backyard and convinced the owner to sell. Time for the fun to begin..

Sweet!  Nice find.  I assume lime gold exterior?
Shoulder harness in 67, not seen often.  I assume it is a late car and similar to the shoulder strap 68s have?

How much of the CCG is still there?
This weekend I picked up a 67 GTA 390 Fastback really nice car, planning to keep for awhile.
I think it has ever option except speed control.
It's the first old Stang I've had that the CCG lights work! It still has the correct factory fuel sending unit for the CCG.

Very interesting Jeff,  it was calling your name :)
The Mustang by the numbers-Kevin Marti book does not show shoulder harness as an available option. For that matter I see no mention of belts at all 1967-1973.

Nice find, Jeff!  The car appears to be a fairly sound body- the kind that makes me drool.  Around here, we are happy if they are not pinched at the doors :)

I always thought that they would be potential rockets. About the lightest mustang body that had a big block engine bay. Also years ago, 67 model cars didn't need a smog test around here. What could be wrong with this combo? :D

Congrats Jeff!!  Will a 460 fit in there?   If I can make a deal on that 71, I might have a "built 460", as it's been described to me, that is currently in the car and of no use to me.  I would make you a heck of a deal.  I think he said it has 600 hp. ;D

Thanks all... actually a order for dealer stock(I fixed that in the first post), early build. October 1966 build, sold April 1967! The CCG is HALF there on the console, two lights there, two not. One is the fog light switch I think. It is missing the shoulder harnesses, need to investigate the headliner for mounting. I will post the full Marti soon.. had lots of interior options for the basic GT outer appearance. I keep finding conflicting info on the exhaust tips.. has dual exhaust hangars but no cutout valance. It did have tips loose in the trunk...! My girlfriend asked what GT stood for, she came up with Green Thing.. the name stuck.

I’m pretty sure the only 67 GT that came with dual exhaust was the K or S code that got the valence with the cut outs

Dual exhaust cars were all K and S code.
It was once believed and was even literature printed that the 1967 GT option included low restriction dual exhaust. The 289 4V A code and 289 2V C code were both available with GT option but did not necessarily receive the dual trumpet thus cut out valance. 67 cars are crazy oddities
