On Site at the 50th Cobra Jet Reunion
« on: August 23, 2018, 02:55:26 pm »
I stopped by the track and am now at the Sawmill. I saw Rusty Gillis' car, Bob Perkins' 1969 drag team car, and a few others, but no people that I recognized. Something to keep in mind: there's nothing near the track in terms of food and drink. There's a McDonald's and a Subway just outside the Sawmill, but if you're looking for a Starbuck's or something like that you're gonna be out of luck. Plan accordingly.

Chris has a handle on that. Hopefully he'll fill in the details here...

   Scott,
My flight arrives at 6 am and I'll head to the track with Bruce Sizemore probably around 9 or 10. Look for a fat guy with a big white moustache! LOL I have lots of stuff in my suitcase for people to look at .

You guys have fun! Sorry I’m missing meeting everybody but family demands take priority. Ed, I put those NOS Cobra Jet stickers on my side windows. They look great. Rick

I'm so sorry I'm missing it all too.  I just got my car back from the body shop and I'm very disappointed,  It took a little bit of the wind out of my sail. Hope to see you all in the future.

At the reunion and here's Vinny Lyons getting awards for their part in making the 50th possible.

My dad and Bill Bar spent half the day together. Here he is, on the right, holding court with CJ owners with his good friend Vinny Lyons and new friend Roger Parlett. That's Ben Coles closest in the pic.

Sorry Brian, using my tablet. Rusty Gillis not Randy, we had a great talk yesterday about his car and his time with Hubert Platt.
