Another 135 located
« on: December 08, 2018, 06:13:03 pm »
Mark Carpenter is the one that brought 023 to the 50th Cobra Jet Reunion! He inherited it from his father! Jim Bellinger is the husband of Marks sister. He was racing her car, a 428CJ Torino. Correct info is helpful.

When I spoke with them, they gave me both names but didn't mention that Shelley owned the Torino and Mark the Mustang.

We will  revise the page.

Thanks. After looking again, I didn't realize I had all upper case on the title. Changed it so it didn't look snarky!

I went back to the published results (attached) to confirm that Mark was driving the 135. Confirmed, story updated.

I was curious what the total is for all the  cars located so I read about all 50 listed on the site and found 12 cars that were not located. There are quite a few that were located, but no story or update plans have been sent to Scott. Some may be in rough shape and too difficult or expensive to restore , but would still be interesting to read about.,
Understandably you cannot make people send in more info. I ran into Mike Foster at the reunion who was talking to Jacky Jones --and I asked him if he still owned 135 car 51 - he said he did and was still restoring it. I asked him to tell us about it. At the 40th reunion, I ran into Joe Teck who said he had 135 car 14, but have heard nothing more.
The 135 program was unique and helped set the stage for many other muscle cars to come.

Mike's car is being restored as well. Not sure what else can be said about it.
