Yellow Paint Stamp

Can anyone tell me what the yellow paint stamp is for?

   Eric ,
        The 6AE paint stamp was a Ford ID stamp. Probably for warehousing ID purposes. Many Borg Warner T10s had a C3AE stencil ( in yellow) on them.

It is GAE, meaning a RUG-AE transmission.  So in short factory Identification stamp.

After taking a look at Jeff's link, I'm pretty sure Danny is correct:



I suspected it had something to do with the tranny's RUG-AE2 part number, and it makes sense.  Tranny has the correct casting stamp for the RUG-AE2 on main case (C8AR 7006-D):
