It was not a balance issue. The tires were not round.

    One thing to consider is "originally" there were probably a million tires made in F70-14 by Goodyear and their quality control ( and standards) "may" have been better than the current manufacturer that "might" make a thousand at a time and not have the level of inspection ( or standards) Goodyear had. We ARE fortunate that a company IS making the tires at all .

I have seen sometimes, the tire bead not seated right. This gives the same problem as a tire hop or bounce. Needs more tire lube to seat the bead.

+1 on the lug centric vs hub centric and +1 on the road force balancer.
Chris, I also don't think these tires are speed rated, but I think the f.a.s.t. (factory appearing,stock tire) drag racing class use them, and some of them run very fast with the mph over 120.

I thought I read somewhere that they "shave" the tires too.
