Installing heater - sound deadener first?
« on: June 14, 2019, 07:38:53 am »
Nearly at the stage of installing the heater.
Anything around that I should worry about? Do I need the sound deadener behind the dash first?
Wiring harness? Heater motor shield? de-misting duct installed?

Sound deadener first, then heater box asembly, defrost duct, then wiring you might want to put the water hoses on first kind of hard to get your hands behind there after but can be done i would put hoses on first

just put the heater on before you put the top dash on...and absolutely put the pipes on first....make sure you tighten and the pressure wrap. ....btw, if you put on a vacuum hose on the screws...and thread the hose through the hole...it lines up much easier...

The electrical is real easy to add after done...

And yes, the firewall needs to be complete...put the heat/sound deafener in...and any other insulator cover...

I put the carpet in first...but...if you have AC you will need to run a hose through a hole for drips....ensure you cut the hole before you lay the carpet.

I seem to recall that if you don't put the passenger/right side kick panel/vent assembly in before the heater that you will have issues getting it in later.

...and if that's the case you may want to get your radio antenna installed and tuck the cable away.  Brian
